Working Principle
The permanent magnet actuator is a monostable system, which uses the magnetic force generated by the permanent magnet to keep the gate in the closed position, and the spring to keep the gate in the open position.
In the closed position, there is no current in the closing coil, and the armature is firmly attached to the permanent magnet; during the opening process, the opening capacitor discharges to the closing and opening coil, and as illustrated in the sectional diagram, the current generates a magnetic field on the armature pointing to the opposite direction from that of the magnetic field of the permanent magnet, which, together with spring, detaches the armature from the permanent magnet and secures it in an open position; during the closing process, the closing capacitor discharges to the closing and opening coil, and as illustrated by the sectional diagram, the closing current points to the opposite direction from that of the opening current discharged by the opening capacitor, thus generating a magnetic field pointing upward. When the combined magnetic force generated by the current grows bigger than the spring force that keeps the gate open, then the armature is pushed upward.
